This tree does support our original hypothesis that flowers that bloom in the same season are more closely related than to a flower that blooms in a different season. The protein sequences of the flowers shows that sunflowers and chrysanthemums have more closely related sequences than with the christmas cactus. This evidence seems to be fairly trustworthy because it is comparing each plant side by side.
