Experimental Question Analysis
Our question we sent out to answer was: are all flowers that bloom in the same season closely related? After taking pictures with an S.E.M electron microscope we found that sunflowers and chrysanthemum pollen (which both bloom in the summer) have very similar pollen, while the christmas cactus (blooms in winter) pollen has drastically different pollen. Our hypothesis was supported using these three flowers. It showed that the summer flowers are closely related while the flower that blooms in the winter is much different. Some problems we had with getting this data was the sunflower and crysanthemumv didn't have much pollen to work with so we didn't get accurate pictures of this pollen in the SEM and under the microscope. We had to use pictures from outside sources.
